Let me back track . I used to work as community manager for a video game company and it was the first time in my life I had to be QA ‘d ( I’m pretty sure you can’t turn that into a verb but you get my drift )for my personality . I don’t know about you but failing QA because of your personality kinda sucks. Its like “Woah you get a 60% on friendliness and yeah this explains why you are a nerd and have no friends. Btw, passing is 90 %.” ( Okay in fairness to QA they said it differently and used smarter kinder words .. it just translated to me this way )
After marinating for two years on this particular thought gum drop it finally occurred to me ..Durr…WTF?! KPI= Report Card .. Why didn’t they just say so in the beginning? Instead of making it all sound hoity toity in business jargon-ese . It was just the way it was presented that made it look complicated and well to be honest soul sucking-ly depressing.
So I decided to make my own grading system.
In my way of thinking , the world doesn’t have to be devoid of color ..it can have purple.

I am reading through “A Complete Course in Freshman English” by Harry Shaw. It is an old book. The pages are thin and brittle and whose bindings, I have reinforced rather pathetically with some tape. But it looks rather impressive so I figured its a good place to start to clock in my hours to become a writer.
“In no sense is it a course designed for the training of professional writers or speakers.”
Truth be told I never wanted to be a writer. I wrote a couple of children’s books but truth be told they probably aren’t very good and besides 3 year olds are very forgiving critics. But I have wandered into a life where I find myself a writer nay a content editor to be precise. Which considering my very libertine views on sentence construction , I find myself constantly double checking if they, my bosses, have realized their error and are in fact firing me every day I walk into work.
In fact I have been working with that particular mindset in place, which did a couple of things to my demeanor at work; one, it made me feel like I had nothing to lose since they were going to fire me anyway so I might as well do what I think was best without editing myself for political correctness and two, it made work rather fun so ergo I was fun and three, I was frightfully candid.
A couple months later they still have not fired me and I have somewhat gotten faster at writing if not better. So I have decided if they are going to keep me around I will learn to be a writer and if it takes me 10,000 hours then it will simply take me 10,000 hours. It seems depressingly long time but I choose to follow where my feet bring me and it has brought me to this doorstep.
I guess I will be sticking around awhile.
Nothing like being told to write that creates a blank space in my head filled with white noise. Funny how when I don’t have to write , I seem to be more creative . Maybe because the characters aren’t mine. I don’t know what it is. I just not very impressed with myself and don’t really have the hubris to set my chin against the dictators of my pen and say “well I am the writer! ” like a battle cry and stomp off.
So I’m writing now just so I can write. One can only stare at empty piece of paper for so long.
Maybe because the scene well is so boring. I cant get a feel for the character. Live like an alien, breathe like an alien be the alien. I think its the name. They gave the alien a name. Now the name is stuck in my head and lives encased in its name like a cement coffin.

I will hate to admit this but I truly believe that my dog has an evil peanut dog in her head that seeks to undo me and my reputation at any minute. It plots on a daily basis to embarrass me and make me look like a complete and total moron.
Day 4 of Sim Health Regimen

So the gist of my new health program is I’m treating myself like my Sim.
I realized certain things that I have spent my time on to “relax” don’t actually relax me one such activity is watching tv. TV is addicting and a couple hours later of potato like behaviour , I feel pretty much the same as I did in the beginning . Whereas with 1 hour of playing Persona, I feel recharged enough to tackle painting the cabinet sized canvas in my room .
This behaviour bore a remarkable likeness to my Sim character. So of late I’ve been experimenting with different leisure activities that my Sim enjoys to see if is applicable to Real Life.
So I checked the game first and took note that my Sim is happy with telescopes, chess, painting, and reading .Although I don’t have a fancy for telescopes I do enjoy people talking to me about astronomy which I didn’t know about till recently.
Also I’ve also added salad to my daily regime of food intake. The theory is if I add enough good things I wont have room for bad things in my system. Plus eating the wrong foods is generally a waste of time in any videogame. Low nutrition always results in Low HP.. ^_^
So lets start the count today and lets see where it goes..

Today is Saturday. Today is day IV of my self imposed NO-TV asylum. Why should I do that to myself? Have I lost my marbles? What could I possibly accomplish from doing this and isn’t it a bit ironic considering my obsession with cartoons and star trek?
Well, yes in fact I do believe I have lost my marbles. But that was firmly established pre- tv ban.( checking medication now )
Well during my convalescence ( round 2 with pneumonia ) I did absolutely nothing but sift through the endless channels of tv like a tacky tourist only interested in eating Mcdonalds and collecting refrigerator magnets. It was a glorious waste of time and I was a glorious waste of space.
and I realized .. I was addicted to TV. TV is a cage. It is my cage.Yes I know its silly . I have unplugged before but this was really really really bad. I think I watched 3 cheer movies in a row. ( how sick is that? and why are there so many cheer movies in existence? )
That needs to stop .. sick or not.Excuses to no one in the room but me and the TV and the TV , frankly, did not care. But I did. I will not become a potato brain or in filipino – kamote — ( the verb form being kinakamote or something like that). Kinakamote loosely translates to turning into a potato or being so motionless that a potato..particularly a sweet potato can actually grow on you.
Pathetic.. so pathetic I will not go gently into that good night ( which surely come ) in the form of a potato!Never!

I had an interesting car pool with one of my favorite people this morning. Sometimes a ten minute lmao while on your way to work is all that’s necessary to start your day off and things just roll smoothly from there on.
So with an Otaku former Magic the Gathering , D&D (prejudiced ) girl sitting firmly in shotgun we came up with geeky one liners sure to make any female, geek, dork , and nerd smile.
